St. Louis rapper Sexyy Red said the most romantic thing she’s experienced was getting a gift from a…robbery?
Sexyy sat down with Montreality to spill the beans on what exactly went down at the time which was during her tender teenage years. During the interview, she touched on a number of things but one that got social media talking was what a boyfriend did for her romantically.
“The most romantic thing somebody did for me was–it was my first boyfriend. I was just in high school, he was a little older than me and it was Valentine’s Day, I’ll never forget,” she began. “He robbed somebody and gave me the money and gave me the belt he stole.”
She continued saying the gesture was “so sweet.”
“And it was just so sweet because he was out of breath and stuff, he was like ‘here I got this for you.’ I was like so sweet, thank you because nobody ever did nothing like that for me. He stole for me. So I’m like ‘awww you did that for me, really?”
Sexyy Red added that she was 15 years old at the time.
“I was like 15. That was my first boyfriend and that’s the first time someone had gotten me a gift or tried to do something for me. And I know he didn’t have it, so the fact that you still made a way and you did what you had to do, that was nice.”
She hilariously tilted her head to the screen and said with a laugh “it was only 13 dollars. But it was nice [laughs] and it was a fake Gucci belt! But I was so ‘awww, he sweet.'”
Sexyy Red concluded her Montreality interview with a message to the youth.
“Be yourself always,” she said–something she has absolutely no problem doing.
