The internet exploded when Cassie’s shocking $30 million lawsuit against Diddy surfaced, as countless social media users have been sounding off about it including celebrities. In the lawsuit, filed on November 16 in the Southern District of New York court system, the “Me & U” singer accused Diddy of rape, sexual assault, repeated physical abuse and sex trafficking.  The Cassie Diddy accusations were a huge threat to the entertainment mogul and were some of biggest claims ever made against him.  Celebrity reactions to the Cassie Diddy accusations were also widespread.

“After years in silence and darkness, I am finally ready to tell my story, and to speak up on behalf of myself and for the benefit of other women who face violence and abuse in their relationships,” Cassie said in her filings.

50 Cent was the first to react.  Posting his reaction just a few minutes after the filing was reported on The New York Times and other sites picked it up.  “Damn brother love, brother love, brother love, you out here looking [lurking eyes emoji] CRAZY AS A MF,” he said.

Rapper Azealia Banks, who is never one to shy away from controversy, sounded off about the lawsuit in her Instagram stories, calling Diddy “a violent homosexual.”

“THIS IS TRUE,” Azealia wrote in response to the headline, “’Cassie Sues Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs For Rape And Repeated Physical Abuse.’”

She continued her sentiment saying, “One time Diddy beat her up so bad he sent her on a [three-week] ‘vacation’ to Hawaii just so no one would see or question how her face got like that. Another violent [hip-hop homosexual. This is what mental illness looks like for all of you armchair psychologists.”

Singer and former Danity Kane member Aubrey O’Day also took to her IG stories to give her opinion on Cassie’s lawsuit.

“Been trynna tell y’all for years. Prayers up for this queen [hands up emoji] @cassie,” she wrote.

Her former bandmate Dawn Richard added her stance on X formerly known as Twitter, tweeting, “praying for Cassie and her family, for peace and healing. you are beautiful and brave. [Heart emoji].”

Legendary model and mogul Kimora Lee Simmons also seemingly shaded Diddy via her Instagram stories saying, “As you sow, so shall you reap.”

Just last year when Diddy received his Lifetime Achievement Award from BET, he thanked Cassie in his acceptance speech.

Cassie’s filing, claims that Diddy brought “sex workers” into the relationship and that the couple took lots of drugs during these encounters–among other things.

“Mr. Combs always supplied Ms. Ventura (and the sex worker) with copious amounts of drugs before and during the (the encounters.) Ms. Ventura was given ecstasy, cocaine, GHB, ketamine, marijuana, and alcohol in excessive amounts…which allowed her to disassociate during these horrific encounters.”

In the filing Cassie also alleged that Diddy was “stomping on her face” during one incident and “she began to throw up from the violent assault” later on that evening.

She even claimed that he forced her to carry a handgun in her purse before, even though she didn’t feel comfortable doing so. The overall abuse, she claimed, had been going on for ten years.

Shortly after Cassie’s lawsuit surfaced, a 2022 video of rapper and reality show Yung Joc explaining how Diddy allegedly made her shave her head made rounds online.

“I was watching Puff…Puff jumped up. Me and Cassie sitting next to each other, my wife right here, Cassie right here. The n**ga jumped off the bar, came over there and said, ‘Yo, yo Cassie. Tomorrow I want you to shave the side of your head,'” Joc added that he was shocked by her reaction. “So I was looking at Cassie and I was like, ‘You not ’bout to do that are you?’ She said, ‘Well I mean, whatever Sean wants, I’m gonna do.’” he alleged.

In the initial story from the NYT, Diddy’s lawyer, Ben Brafman released a statement sayig, “Mr. Combs vehemently denies these offensive and outrageous allegations.” He reportedly added that “for the past six months, Mr. Combs has been subjected to Ms. Ventura’s persistent demand of $30 million, under the threat of writing a damaging book about their relationship, which was unequivocally rejected as blatant blackmail.”

“Despite withdrawing her initial threat, Ms. Ventura has now resorted to filing a lawsuit nriddled with baseless and outrageous lies, aiming to tarnish Mr. Combs’s reputation and seeking a payday.”

UPDATE:

Combs and Cassie have since settled their lawsuit, coming to terms on an undisclosed amount, less than 24 hours after the filing by Cassie.

Diddy’s lawyer has released an updated statement:

Meanwhile Cassie also released a statement saying, “I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control. I want to thank my family, fans and lawyers for their unwavering support.”
