The only advice column that spins both sides of the truth.
Q: My girlfriend’s birthday is right around the corner, along with Christmas. I have a huge family, so I really can’t afford to buy her two separate gifts. I don’t want to look like a cheap boyfriend, but I can’t come up with the extra money for a second gift. How can I make her birthday and Christmas special?
Side A: First, you should consider that gifts may not be what your girlfriend wants or needs to make her birthday and Christmas special. For example, spending time with you could be enough for her. Second, you should discuss your concerns with her. Let her know that you’re worried about looking like a cheap boyfriend and why you can’t afford to buy her two separate gifts. Listen to what she has to say in return. This will be a prime opportunity for you to find out what your girlfriend is really like on the inside and to see how much she really loves you. I believe that, if she truly loves you, she’ll see you as her gift and she won’t want for anything that is materialistic.
Side B: You have two options: (1) You can focus on buying one, major gift to make up for both occasions or (2) Come up with affordable, personalized gifts based on what your girlfriend likes. Jewelry is the perfect idea for the first option. You can buy her a nice pair of earrings or a necklace, which will last her throughout the years. If this doesn’t work for you, then you could think of things that your girlfriend likes and make your own gifts centered on those things. For example, if there’s a particular restaurant that she loves, you could re-create the atmosphere of the restaurant and make her favorite dish at home. Overall, with both options, think outside of the box and give her something to remember!
Q: My husband is coming home from a 6-month business trip overseas, soon, and I want to make our holiday season a very sexy one to show him how much I’ve missed him. Can you give me some tips on how to heat up our winter together?
Side A: Start to make a list of all the things that he has mentioned that he wants to do, when he comes home. Then, put a sexy spin on each of those things. For example, bake that favorite pie that he’s been craving, while naked. Or, if you want to tease him a bit, bake it while being naked under an apron with some matching stiletto pumps on! So, you can heat things up by adding some pleasure to his plans!
Side B: Well, both Christmas and New Year’s Eve involve the element of a countdown. There’s the 25 days to Christmas countdown and the countdown to midnight on New Year’s Day. Why not include this idea into your own plans for your husband? Perhaps, you can countdown the day of gift-giving by having your husband unwrap you in a new piece of lingerie, each night for 25 days. Or you can countdown the New Year by trying 12 new sexual positions, each hour, 12 hours before midnight!
