Eminem and Shady records Hip-Hop artist, Yelawolf performed at the G-Shock 30th Anniversary “Shock the World” 2013 party on August 7. The hottest event in town took place at New York’s Basketball City to celebrate 30 years of G-Shock’s indestructible timepieces and introduce its latest collaboration with Eminem, the GDX6900MNM-1.

Prior to Eminem’s G-Shock 30th Anniversary 2013 live performance, rumors circulated about Eminem possibly performing some new songs. Speculation arose as the result reports about Eminem recording his eighth studio album. “We fully expect to be releasing a new Eminem album in 2013. He’s been working on it for some time,” Shady Records President, Paul Rosenberg told Billboard magazine in February.  “It’s safe to say that it will be post-Memorial Day at some point, but we’re not exactly sure when,” Rosenberg continued. Although no new songs were performed  Wednesday night, signature songs from his catalogue such as “Lose Yourself,” “Business” and “Not Afraid” kept the lucky attendees hyped up.

Fans who were unable to attend the live show suffered disappointment when the live stream of Eminem’s performance was cancelled. “Get ready for the G-Shock 30th Anniversary “Shock the World 2013” event – streaming LIVE tomorrow – August 7th, 2013 at 8PM EST on www.gshock.com/stw2013! ‪#‎stw2013”, posted the official G-Shock Facebook the day before the live event. Shortly after, G-Shock followed with another post, “DISCLAIMER: The Eminem performance will NOT be streamed,” breaking the bad news to anxious fans. The abrupt change may be a last minute decision from Eminem’s camp, as there were also strict policies implemented during the show. Before Eminem took to the stage, an announcement was made telling the crowd that all professional cameras were banned. Eminem pretty much “pulled a Beyonce” and members of the media were asked to put away their cameras. “This is something for the fans,” said the announcer before Eminem’s show proceeded.

Fellow Hip-Hop recording artists Vinnie Chase, Fabolous and Busta Rhymes were spotted among the guests who attended the G-Shock 30th Anniversary “Shock the World” 2013 celebration.

Available in December 2013, the Eminem and G-Shock collaboration watch is priced at $180 and will be sold at the G-SHOCK store in Soho, NYC and select stores.
