Kendrick Lamar Gives Back to students from his former high school with some help from Reebok Classic on His Huge Grammy Night

By now you saw the amazing performance Kendrick Lamar put on during the 58th Annual Grammy Awards.  What you didn’t know what that before the show, Kendrick Lamar treated some young students from his old high school in Compton, Centennial High School,  to some behind the scenes exclusives in conjunction with Reebok Classic.  On a night historic night for the rapper, since he was nominated for 11 Grammy Awards, eventually taking home 5 statues including one for Best Rap Album, Kendrick was still mindful of an opportunity to give back to his community and his people by way of more than just music.

The students were invited to the Award show by Reebok and Kendrick.  They were able to sit down with Kendrick before the event started for an exclusive Q&A session with the rapper, which they recorded.  The students were also able to take images of the rapper in rehearsal before the show.  They attended the Grammy Awards later in the evening, experienced the red carpet and even walked away with some fresh Reebok Classics.  The joys when an artist like Kendrick Lamar gives back.

Each lucky student had to exemplify “the attributes that shone in a young Kendrick and embodies the characteristics that Reebok Classic encourage; having the courage to express who they are and a willingness to stand out from the crowd.”
