Patti LaBelle Reveals Plans To Release First Jazz Album, Bel Hommage

Soul music legend, Patti LaBelle is set to make quite the return to music this Spring with the release of her first ever Jazz album, and her first album in eight years. The Grammy Award winning singer and former lead singer of LaBelle is a true treasure for music lovers over several generations. The new album, Bel Hommage is her first solo album since her 2007 Christmas album, Miss Patti’s Christmas, will be released this May.

Over a career spanning 50 plus years Patti LaBelle has released 18 solo studio albums, 3 live albums and an additional 11 albums as the lead singer of LaBelle. She’s responsible for countless hits including, “Lady Marmalade”, “If You Only Knew”, “New Attitude”, and “The Right Kinda Lover”. She’s released albums in several genre’s including R&B, Disco, Soul and Gospel, but the new release Bel Hommage is her first Jazz album.

Bel Hommage is her first release since she reunited with Nona Hendryx and Sarah Dash as LaBelle for the release of their first album in 30 years, Back To Now. More recently Patti LaBelle has been making waves on Broadway, performing in the hit show Fela! and later in After Midnight.

Last year one of her biggest successes has nothing to do with performance at all. Her Patti’s Pies were a hit in stores and selling out like… hot cakes! In addition to Bel Hommage, LaBelle is releasing her sixth book and fourth cookbook, Desserts LaBelle, on April 25^th and has a line of successful food products, Patti’s Good Life, which is carried at Walmart stores. She also continues to sell out concert venues across the United States and stars on the hit Cooking Channel show, Patti LaBelle’s Place.

Bel Hommage will be released on May 5, 2017. The collection of jazz standards is a joint venture between Sony Red and LaBelle’s own label, GPE Records. It will feature the songs, “Moanin’,” “Moody’s Mood for Love” (featuring KEM), “Peel Me A Grape,” “Softly As I Leave You” and “Here’s To Life”.
