DMX Cancels Shows In California, Relapse Feared
Last week the Ruff Ryders tour was set off at Barclays Center in Brooklyn with Drag-on, Eve, Swizz Beatz, The Lox and of course headliner, DMX. While there was tons of excitement leading up to the show for 90s Hip-Hp fans, the show turned out to be a bit of a disappointment… for a number of reasons. Probably the most disappointing part of the night was the apparent state of DMX, who was more than a bit out of it. Now comes that news that DMX cancels shows in California fueling the rumors that he may be going through a relapse.
TMZ reports that the cause of the cancelled shows is a “medical emergency” or at least that’s what a Santa Ana, CA venue told fans after DMX cancelled a show Tuesday night. Additional shows in Los Angeles and San Diego are also postponed.
Just yesterday DMX and The Lox were announced as headliners for the Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival. This news that DMX cancels shows in California can’t be good news for the Festival, as their hoping that he brings his A game a second time in Brooklyn.
DMX had a number of rants during his performance in Brooklyn and fans in the crowd were mumbling about everything from drugs to alcohol usage being the cause. Sources say that DMX was indeed drinking, but you know how that go.
