Forest Whitaker Is Joining Season Four of FOX’s Empire
Since the beginning, FOX’s hit musical drama, Empire, has been known for their iconic celebrity guest appearances throughout the show. From Courtney Love and Mariah Carey to Naomi Campbell and even Rosie O’Donnell, it only seems to get better, season after season. Now, Academy Award-winning actor Forest Whitaker has been announced as the newest addition to the Empire family in its approaching fourth season… and it looks like we’ll be seeing quite a bit of him.
According to reports, Whitaker will be taking on the recurring role of ‘Uncle Eddie’, ‘a charismatic music icon and hitmaker’ who was the first to give Lucious–portrayed by Terrence Howard, radio airplay many years ago. Now, decades later, Eddie steps up for Lucious at a critical moment during his rehabilitation, and Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) invites him to produce a song in celebration of Empire Entertainment’s twentieth anniversary.
The fourth season of Empire will return for its premiere on September 27th at 9/8c on FOX.
