Common and Angela Rye Have Officially Split But Will Remain Friends
Common and Angela Rye Are No Longer a Couple
Unfortunately, the relationship of rapper-turned-actor Common and Angela Rye has suddenly come to an end.
Rye recently confirmed the news to Page Six TV, stating: “We have and will always be friends,” the CNN political commentator told the publication. “He is an amazing human being, and I’m a much better person because he’s a part of my life. May we all keep loving and living.”
Rumors of the two’s breakup sparked shortly after Rye wasn’t seen alongside Common at this past Sunday’s Oscars, a source reported. Common was in attendance to deliver a performance of “Stand Up for Something,” which is song that he co-wrote and performed with singer Andra Day for the Marshall film’s official soundtrack.
Common and Angela Rye began dating last summer and went public about their union after appearing on a number of red carpets together.
Later that year, Common spoke on their then flourishing relationship to radio host Bevy Smith during an on-air episode of her show.
“There’s a definite connection with Angela Rye,” the 45-year-old told Smith on her SiriusXM radio show, Bevelations. “She’s a wonderful woman [who] I’m dating. I’m happy right now, and she’s an incredible human being.”
While we hate to see the duo go their separate ways, it’s refreshing to know that they are still going to remain good friends.
