“Stay with Me” singer El DeBarge found himself staying behind bars over the weekend, after he allegedly chased a man with a heavy tool and smashed through an RV with it, TMZ reports.
On Friday, the 57-year-old was involved in a heated altercation with a fellow gentleman at a home in San Fernando Valley, California. Following the argument, DeBarge trailed the unknown victim outside.
The man then settled in a nearby RV, but law enforcement told that DeBarge was not “deterred” and still proceeded to go after him with a wrench, which he took to bust through the vehicle’s windshield.
Subsequent to the strike, the authorities were immediately contacted by the other party and DeBarge was later taken into custody for felony vandalism.
It is said that he only spent a night in jail before posting $20,000 bail.
However, this isn’t DeBarge’s first run-in with the law, throughout the years, he’s been arrested for cocaine possession, domestic dispute, and probation violation.
