Pediatrics
If you love children, becoming a pediatric nurse seems like the most sensible option. To be a pediatric nurse, you need to be good with kids, but you also need to be able to be in control of your emotions. A reason many stay clear of this field of nursing is that they are worried about seeing sick children, but you would be surprised by how well they bounce back and face illness. Geriatrics
If you aren’t a fan of crying babies, perhaps a role as a geriatric nurse is more your style. Nurse Specialist
A nurse specialist concentrates on one specialism and becomes an expert, working with the patient population. The good thing about nursing is there are so many specialisms, and as you progress through your course, you may find the one you love. Not everyone specializes and some nurses like a bit of everything. If looking after a certain patient population such as cardiac, oncology or surgical patients takes your fancy, you can then specialize in this role once qualified.
Mental Health Nurse
A mental health nurse assists those with mental health issues and works with them to keep them safe and overcome their illness. This role can be different from the other styles of nursing, as there are usually fewer bedbound patients. You can even work as a mental health nurse in the armed forces.
