As 2019 sets to close in a little over a month, it has turned out to be quite the year for Dave East. The rapper and actor who currently stars as Method Man in Hulu’s miniseries, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, recently confirmed on his Instagram page, new music is on the way. The Dave East Survival album features several of Hip-Hop’s greatest such as Nas, E-40, Rick Ross, Fabolous, DJ Premier and among others, the talented Teyana Taylor. Survival is Dave’s debut album.

The lead single from the album is the Jacquees assisted “Alone,” released back in October.

Being one of the hottest stars in entertainment right now, its only fitting that Dave East hits the road to tour right? He will be coming to a city near you with the Survival Tour which kicked off on October 13th in New York.

The East Harlem native who’s album will feature 19 tracks, plus a bonus track, recently said during a sit down interview with Revolt, that his inspiration for the Survival album came from listening to previous music released by the likes of Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, and Cam’ron. The late, great Nipsey Hussle also provided a significant amount of motivation for him. In fact, the sudden nature of Nipsey Hussle’s passing, made it difficult at time for Dave East to even record music.

Yet, Dave East drew from the impact Nipsey Hussle made on his life while he was here by paying homage to the slain rapper on Survival with the properly titled “The Marathon Continues” Tribute. Dave East also paid respect to his fallen friend on the freestyle he released of Westwood.

Dave East’s star will only shine brighter in 2020 and beyond with surely more opportunities whether musically or acting coming down the pipeline. Once a part of XXL Magazine’s Freshmen Class, he is now making his mark like those that came before him.
