Celebrities are Going Wild for this App! See how TikTok Challenges are Shaping the Entertainment Industry During this Pandemic
TikTok is an app that can be downloaded on almost any mobile device for free – it allows you to watch, create, and share videos on social media platforms, most often to a soundtrack of some of your top favorite artists. While the app itself has always been here, only in recent weeks have we witnessed a surge of TikTok challenges that have taken over social media through easy to use editing effects.
Megan Thee Stallion, aka HOT GIRL MEG’s latest single, “Savage” has become a fan favorite for many celebrities. The “Savage Challenge” created by one of Meg’s fans, Keara Wilson, instantly went viral when Meg reposted Keara’s video of the “Savage Challenge” to her Instagram page, reaching her millions of followers.
Since then, celebrities like Serayah, Keke Palmer, Tammy Rivera, Queen Naija, Ryan Destiny and Normani, and even Meg Thee Stallion herself took to social media to do the “Savage Challenge” – all adding their own unique flare to it.

In addition to the “Savage Challenge” that appears to have taken over the Tik Tok world, the “Something New Challenge,” based on a song by Wiz Khalifa featuring, Ty Dolla $ign has also become very popular in 2020 despite the song being released in 2017. Celebrities such as Tyga, J. Lo and her family, LeBron James and his family, Ciara and her family, to name a few, took to social media to do the challenge themselves – whether tallest to shortest or shortest to tallest, all videos are definitely fun to watch.

Other challenges include: the “Flip the Switch Challenge” and now the latest from Drake, the “Toosie Slide Dance Challenge,” which is quickly making waves across the TikTok platform – and guess which celebrity and his family has already jumped on the “Toosie Slide bandwagon?” You guessed it – the LeBron James’ family.
One thing’s for sure, these TikTok challenges could not have come at a better time, and thanks to the Tik Tok app, people all over the world are able to connect through dance – watching, creating, and sharing their videos.
