Parlé Magazine recently launched our YouTube based weekly web series titled, #CovidBars. The series is an opportunity to reflect on the various elements of life since Covid-19 brought us into quarantine back in March, while examining what happens next, while we make it through these phases of post-quarantine life. One of the weekly segments for the series is the#CovidBars emcee feature. On one of our most recent episodes we feature Texas native emcee, Yung Pooda. On the episode we premiered a Yung Pooda freestyle and interviewed him as well.

During the interview Pooda also opened up about his journey in Hip-Hop. He explained that he has been making music since he was a pre-teen. Pooda’s father had a home studio set up and after seeing his father working with someone else on a session, he asked him father to let him record. At the time he was just 11 years old.
Shortly after he started recording he released a double disc mixtape, before the age of 12 years old. The project helped him discover what worked and didn’t work and he has continued to grow into his music and his sound ever since.

Pooda also discusses working with Grammy Winning Producers Cool & Dre on his forthcoming EP, shares a potential title for the project and discusses how he was discovered by his record label, It’s A 10 Records.
