Are you an upcoming or established artist? If the answer to any of the two questions is yes, then you might have heard about a Spotify for Artist site. Currently, it is one of the most popular ways to promote one’s music and connect with fans. If you are not yet registered for one, you need to do it. Now, after having this account, you need to register it before getting verified.

How do you go about this verification? Here are the steps to verify your Spotify for the Artist account.

Step 1: Sign Up

Before having your account verified, you need to signup first. How do you sign up? It is an easy process that you can do via a site or an app. If on-site, login to artists.spotify.com and claim your profile. Next, claiming your page requires linking the profile to your social media sites such as Facebook, Instagram, or any other account linked to your artist profile. The most convenient way of accessing the profile is by using an app that can be downloaded on Appstore or Google store for iPhone users or Android users, respectively.

Step 2: Inviting your team

After signing up, the next step is inviting your team members. Who are team members? Team members include your management, the band, agents, among others. Ensure they have a Spotify account, then use their email address that they used to register to add them to your team. Click on your artist profile, and then click on ‘manage team,’ just under your profile name. You can choose rights for your members, which mainly include: ‘full,’ ‘edit, ‘or ‘view-only.’ These are the access levels they would be having to your artistic profile. After choosing their rights, you can click invite to add them to the team.

Step 3: Adding Branding to Profile

After profile approval, you can now click login to your Artist profile. How do you go about it? Log to artists.spotify.com, and then click Your Name, followed by a dashboard. On the dashboard, choose your artist. The feature allows you to manage more than one artist using the same profile. After selecting the artist, click on the menu and choose ‘profile.’ After choosing the profile, you can edit it with the respective details. These details include Artist pick, Header Image, Avatar Image, Associated Image, Biography, and links to your social media sites. This final step is the last in managing your profile. The next step requires you to create your playlists.

Step 4: Create a Playlist

Once everything gets set, a playlist is required to get featured in your profile. This step requires you to login with your user account via the app. (Just the standard login). You need to create the playlist, then choose the artwork and then ‘copy the URL.’ Go back to the profile settings, scroll to the bottom, and click ‘Artists Playlist.’ Paste the URL you copied. You will see your playlist appearing on your public artist profile. The tab is usually at the bottom of the page, under releases.

Step 5: Add tour dates

To enable your fans to know about your shows with respective dates, Spotify gives you a feature of adding your tour dates. It sources information from various sources and also informs your fans where you will be at specific periods. To make this easier, you need to be updating your Songkick by adding the latest tour dates to your profile.

Step 6: Share your profile

After all the above steps, your profile will now be ready to be shared with your fans. Where can you share your profile? An Artist Spotify profile can be shared on your website and also on social media sites, which include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and even Soundcloud. You can create a smart link that will be useful in sharing your profile with just a click. You can add as many sites and services as you like on this feature. Sites like Instagram require only one share. You can also create a gizmo on your website, where users can follow you to your Spotify account.

Step 7: Understanding your data

Through your profile, you can visit the Spotify Artist Dashboard to understand how and who is streaming your music. Through these streams, you can identify the regions enjoying your content. You can then plan for tours in areas with high streams. Other benefits of these streams are that you can tell the playlists supporting your music’s content and real-time play stats. Others include; Stream Sources, fans gender, Playlist Additions, other artists they listen to, and much more.

The above are steps for Verifying Your Spotify for Artist Account, easily explained for quick understanding. Having a verified account as an artist is the best thing you can do for your fans, as it assures them that they are dealing with a genuine artist and not a parody and trust that they are getting original content from the owner.
