Fans of the Netflix series, Sugar Rush should recognize SnackieCakez and its owner Zerrick Williams! This young business owner participated in the competition show along with his friend, Keon of Cakes By Keon. The two were runners-up on the series but their performance left a lasting impression on us all!

Born from a hobby and named after a friendly joke, Atlanta based SnackieCakez began in April 2018. Zerrick baked here and there for friends and for his own enjoyment before a close friend encouraged him to turn his hobby into a business. The idea piqued his interest and Zerrick began working on a plan.

As with any other business plan, Williams knew he needed a company name and he used another friend for inspiration! He fondly remembers his good friend saying, “you over there snacking cakes and eating stuff” and the rest is history. SnackieCakez was officially named and so began Zerrick’s new business.

SnackieCakez gained popularity among the locals, but it was Zerrick’s appearance on the Netflix competition, “Sugar Rush” that caught our attention! If you’re unfamiliar with the show, it’s a three round competition where contestants use a surprise set of ingredients to create a delectable dessert. Zerrick and Keon represented well with multiple dishes and came in second place (although we wish they had one).

Despite the loss, Zerrick remains grateful for the opportunity. Viewers witness him and Keon adapt to each challenge as they concoct amazing creations under immense time constraints. The duo battled round after round and made a lasting impression on judges and viewers alike.

SnackieCakez got its start with pound cakes, most notably their sweet potato pound cake. Since opening, they’ve expanded rapidly to include custom cakes and a variety of desserts, even vegan options. They don’t have a storefront just yet, but Zerrick hopes to open one sometime this year. In the meantime, fans can order while in Atlanta or away- SnackieCakez offers shipping for most of their items.

Have an idea for a cake? You can give them a call and talk with the owner himself!
