ABC is doubling down on the Steve Harvey business. The network, which is already airing multiple versions of their Family Feud series with Steve Harvey as the host, is now prepping the next Steve Harvey venture, a show titled, Judge Steve Harvey. The 64 year old will helm the series, presumably donning a judge’s robe, for what is being described as a comedy courtroom series.
We now know that the series will premiere on January 4, 2022 at 8pm EST. Watch the Judge Steve Harvey trailer below:

In each one-hour episode, Harvey will take on a variety of conflicts and characters in his courtroom – from small claims to big disputes and everything in between. Harvey plays by his own rules, basing his courtroom on his own life experiences and some good old common sense.
ABC has already signed up for 10 episodes of the first season, premiering in 2022. The show plans to shoot in October, November. Steve Harvey is recruiting talent via social media to appear on the series.

What’s interesting is that Steve Harvey has no criminal justice background. Not sure if he has had to get any certifications to become an arbitrator or judge to make his decisions mean something, but we’re sure more information will be revealed soon. Even in the case of Jerry Springer, who went from talk show host to Judge Jerry, the host had to take a course to become a certified judge before he could take part in Judge Jerry. Jerry previously had a law degree and even practiced law, however.
Steve Harvey already has his nationally syndicated radio show, which came after a successful standup career and his own television comedy series. In addition to the upcoming Judge Steve Harvey show, he also hosts Family Feud, Family Feud Africa, Celebrity Family Feud and STEVE on Facebook Watch.
