Rapper-actor Ice T set the innanets off this morning, and social media just can’t seem to live this one down.

A couple of hours ago, the In Ice Cold Blood host took to his Twitter account, alleging that he’d gotten robbed at a gas station. However, turns out, it was all just… a joke.

As gas prices continue to rise, the tweet was actually feasibly funny to many. But… of course, when it comes to the people over at the Twitter college, not so much.

T’s comedic antics seemingly received mixed reviews. Although his witty statement currently holds over 25,000 retweets and 150,000 likes, some even accused him of stealing the story from elsewhere.

While we’re not so sure about that, one thing we do happen to be sure about is the fact that Twitter had a lot to say.

Check out a few of the reactions to Ice T’s tweet below.
