Irv Gotti was married when he was dating Ashanti, who at the time was an artist on his Murder Inc. roster. The affair has been made public over the years, and the Ashanti and Irv Gotti business relationship has never recovered. Ashanti has said that she plans to re-release her debut album with new production in an attempt at removing herself from the Irv Gotti legacy and securing her own masters.
