Megan Thee Stallion is the type of hip hop artist that enjoys applying pressure! From dealing with her court situation with rapper Tory Lanez, to being the proud girlfriend of rapper Pardi, Megan still finds time to keep her name in the bout for the Queen of Rap. On August 11, 2022, Megan Thee Stallion announced her new album Traumazine would be dropping on Friday!

New music Friday is an exciting time, especially this summer! Summer 2022 has seen new music from Beyonce, Eminem, Drake, Killer Mike, DVSN, Ne-Yo, Chris Brown, Lizzo and many more. Some of these albums have been anticipated and announced with as much publicity as possible, while others have been sprung on us in a moment’s notice, such as Honestly Nevermind by Champagnepapi.

Megan Thee Stallion, who likes to be called Tina Snow, has followed suit much like other artists that have released new music this summer, and deleted her previous social media posts, only to provide posts that promote the release of her new album Traumazine. Two days ago, Megan Thee Stallion posted a short snippet of a video with the caption, “It’s Almost that time…”

Megan Jovon Ruth Pete was born February 15, 1995 and is known professionally as Megan Thee Stallion and is an original Houston, Texas native. She first received attention when videos of her freestyling became popular on social media platforms. Megan Thee Stallion signed to 300 Entertainment in 2018 where she released the mixtape Fever in 2019 and the extended play Suga in 2020, both of which reached the top ten of the Billboard 200.

Tina Snow released her debut studio album Good News in 2020 to critical acclaim, appearing on several year-end best album lists. She earned her first and second number-one singles on the US Billboard Hot 100 with the remix of her song “Savage” (featuring Beyoncé), and her feature on Cardi B‘s single “WAP”; the latter of which was her first number one in several other countries, as well as the Billboard Global 200 chart.

In 2021, she was featured alongside Doja Cat on the remix of Ariana Grande‘s 2020 single “34+35”, which reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100. She followed this with her debut compilation album Something for Thee Hotties released in 2021, which reached the top ten on the Billboard 200, and spawned the single “Thot Shit”, which reached the top twenty in the US, and received a Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance nomination.

Sophomore album releases in the music industry still carry a stigma and fear of not doing as well as an artist’s first album release. Megan Thee Stallion seems to display all the confidence of a seasoned vet with this post from one day ago.

And if there were any questions as to where the title Traumazine derived from, Tina Snow provided this Instagram post:
