Carol Denise Betts was born on February 23, 1970 and is known professionally as Niecy Nash. She is an American actress, comedian and television host, best known for her performances on television.

Clark was born and raised in Los Angeles, but was a guidance counselor at a high school in Washington, DC for 20 years:

“Claybourne High School in D.C. I was a guidance counselor there for 20 years. Taught Driver’s Ed for eight of ’em, till they realized I was using the time to teach myself and my students advanced driving techniques. I also coached the wrestling team ’cause I wanted to perfect my hand-to-hand fighting style so I could pursue my dream of becoming an FBI Agent.” (The Rookie, season 4, episode 19, “Simone”)

Clark was planning to join the FBI when she was younger, but then found herself pregnant with twins. Now that the twins are in college, she is pursuing her dream of becoming an FBI agent, in spite of the fact that at 48 she is the oldest “rookie” at the FBI Academy.
