Gaming has never been so popular with more than 3.24 billion enjoying at least a session or two in 2021. That figure continues to rise as gaming companies create new and exciting ways for players to enjoy their content. There is probably no better example of this than slot online casinos which have thousands of different slot games that are designed to appeal just about every possible taste with themes that range from Ancient Egypt to space. Not only that but many sites also offer free spins that give their players even more opportunities to play their favorite games.

Of course, casinos are alone in this. On top of retro titles for consoles like the DS, online marketplaces like Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the Google Play Store all have incredibly diverse ranges of titles for their players to select from.

This can include AAA titles like Grand Theft Auto V, retro releases like RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic, and even novel indie games like Papers, Please.

There’s no end to the choices that you have available at your fingertips if you’re looking for something new to play. But while it’s definitely great to have options, it can make it difficult to select one.

So if you’re looking for something new to play, why not try one of the hottest games of 2022? After all, they’ve got to be fun if they’re in such high demand.

Sniper Elite 5

Released on the current and previous generations of console, as well as PC, Sniper Elite 5 is actually the 10th instalment in the series from Rebellion Developments.

All of the trappings of the previous releases are present in this new release, including the focus on long-distance shooting and the protagonist, Karl Fairburne.

You follow the Army Ranger from a third-person perspective as he takes on important tasks in 1940s Europe. As with previous releases, the game combines historical accuracy with fictional storylines.

This means that you’ll get up close and personal with weapons, machinery, and command structures common on the continent during that part of 20th-century history but with a plot that will keep you guessing.

Since its release in May, Sniper Elite 5 has had some great reviews and has been warmly received by players, with an 80/100 Metacritic score and 91% positive rating on Google.

Nintendo Switch Sports

What’s the best-selling video game of all time? Minecraft. The second? GTA V. The third? Tetris. They’re all going to be pretty high up your list of guesses.

But would you guess the fourth? It’s Wii Sports!

Sure, it’s a bit of a cheat because Wii Sports shipped with every Wii console that Nintendo shipped, but it’s also fair since almost every single person played it and practically all of those found it fun.

16 years after the release of the original, Nintendo has revisited the concept with Nintendo Switch Sports for, unsurprisingly, the Nintendo Switch.

The game contains upgraded graphics that still keep the feel of the original and many of the classic sports with a few extras (volleyball, badminton, and football) thrown in for good measure.

Like the original, Nintendo Switch Sports makes use of the console’s motion tracking controllers.

To play football in the game, you need to attach the controller to your leg using a specially-designed strap. It can feel a bit awkward at first, but it’s pretty effective.

Gran Turismo 7

Gran Turismo is the ultimate racing simulation series game for the PlayStation. First released for Sony’s original console, the latest instalment is Gran Turismo 7.

It’s available for both PS4 and PS5, the first time Sony has created a multi-platform version of the game. However, the best experience is achieved by playing on the latest hardware.

As we’ve come to expect from the franchise, GT7 has beautiful graphics that are enhanced by the ray-tracing capabilities of the PS5. The console’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers also help to make a much more realistic experience.

It’s received a lot of positive coverage from reviewers, though some players have criticized the use of microtransactions to bypass the “excessive grinding”. This was corrected in an update, helping to retain the classic Gran Turismo feel.
