Regina Hall and Sterling K Brown NEVER HEARD the southern anthem “Knuck If You Buck” before filming the instant classic Honk For Jesus. Save Your Soul movie scene.

Known by many and special to a few, this popular classic “Knuck If You Buck” was quite a hit in the early 2000s. For the new movie, Regina Hall and Sterling K Brown had to rap a couple verses from the Crime Mob’s track.

However, the song was apparently unknown to the two actors before the movie.

In an interview with The Breakfast Club, Hall confesses “We were like, ‘When did this song come out?.”

“We didn’t know the song, let alone the lyrics. I know. It’s sacrilegious to most people,” Hall conveyed as well. By the time the song was released, she had already relocated to Los Angeles, and since she stopped frequenting clubs in her 20s, she was unable to hear it. Regina acknowledged that learning her verse took her “around two or three days.”

In Honk For Jesus. Save Your Soul, Regina Hall plays a pastor’s wife, Trinitie Childs while Sterling K Brown plays her husband, Pastor Lee Curtis Childs.

The pastor and first lady spend the entire movie preparing for what they hope will be an epic return after a scandal forces them to lose their following.

Even if it looks like the odds aren’t in their favor, neither party seems to have given it any thought as to what they’ll do if they never get what they lost.

Consequently, Crime Mob’s rapper Princess gave a show out to the cast on IG alongside a clip from the film where the movie duo can be seen rapping the first and second verses in a car scene.

Honk For Jesus. Save Your Soul in available theaters as well as streaming on Peacock.
