Was Chris Rock’s Selective Outrage funny? On Saturday (March 4), the Everybody Hates Chris creator stormed Netflix with his highly-anticipated comedy special Selective Outrage, where he finally expressed his feelings about being slapped by Will Smith at the 2022 Oscars. Of course, Twitter users shared their points of view regarding the standup special.

During the live-streaming event, Rock spoke on a variety of subjects such as abortion, his kids’ upbringing versus his, folks desiring too much attention, and, naturally, Smith laying hands on him at the 2022 Academy Awards.

When it comes to abortion, the “The Longest Yard” actor quipped although he’s a man, he thinks he has a well-grounded opinion on the topic.

“I want my daughters to live in a world where they have complete control of their bodies,” said Rock. “I believe women should have the right to kill babies. I believe you should have the right to kill as many babies as you want. Kill ’em all. I don’t give a f*ck. But let’s not get it twisted. It is killing a baby.”

As far as the ‘Oscars slap’ goes, Rock vented, “[Jada Pinkett Smith] hurt [Will Smith] way more than he hurt me. Everybody in the world called him a b*tch. I tried to call the motherfu**ker, I tried to call that man and give him my condolences, he didn’t pick up for me. … Everybody called him a b*tch, and who does he hit? Me … That is some b*tch a*s sh*t.”

Twitter had an absolute ball commenting about Selective Outrage. One user tweeted, “Chris Rock agreed to the terms set by Will Smith. He kept Will’s wife’s name out of his mouth. Instead, he called her a b*tch a total of 23 times. But he didn’t say Jada. Chris is not only hilarious, but also, clearly a man of his word. #SelectiveOutrage.”

On the contrary, not everyone on Twitter thought Selective Outrage was humorous. “Chris Rocks selective outrage right titled but wrong comedian this special was not funny. I think Chris Rock needs Jesus and some serious counseling! Chris Rock is 60 years old he needs to change his formula and stop making a mockery of the black community to be funny,” one Twitter user posted.
