This Wheel of Fortune contestant mistook what for what?! A competitor of the show’s flub on a seemingly easy-to-solve riddle recently sent Twitter into an uproar.

Viewers of the celebrated game show were stupefied by the cinematic fail—with host Pat Sajak even appearing a bit alarmed.

During Wednesday’s (March 8) show, Whitney (a math tutor from Memphis, Tennessee) mistakenly guessed “International Gate Line” rather than “International Date Line.”

Whitney’s guess left Sajak looking confounded. “I’m sorry, that’s not right,” spoke the longstanding host, inexplicably aghast by how she thought the answer was GATE as opposed to DATE.

Whitney accumulated $6,500 up until her flub. Bradley, a rival contestant, went next, and rather than solve the puzzle he chose to spin. Before long, the third contestant went on to solve the riddle.

Viewers of the beloved game show were quick to react on social media platforms and quipped about how contestants continue to drop the ball on seemingly simple puzzles.

“’International Gate Line’ is one of the worst brain locks I’ve seen on #WheelOfFortune,” said one viewer via Twitter.

Another chimed in, “I would have paid money for Pat to tell Whitney. ‘Pleasure having you, be safe crossing the International Gate Line on your flight home’ #WheelOfFortune.”

A third user added, “International Gate Line, LMAO!! I’d be mortified. #WheelOfFortune.” While another tweeter bashed the contestant, “INTERNATIONAL GATE LINE ?!!,!,,!,! I CANNOT ANY MORE PLEASE MAKE IT STOP #WheelOfFortune.”

If you don’t know what International Date Line is, don’t feel bad — because there are plenty of folks out there that are in the same boat.

“I can’t even be mad at the black woman because clearly no one knew it was International Date Line #WheelOfFortune,” said one user on Twitter. Someone else concurred, “I thought it was International Gate Line too, but I just drank my weight in vodka. #wheeloffortune.”
