blanket for a newborn

Babies spend most of their time sleeping, and during sleep they grow and develop. Therefore, it is so important to create comfortable and cozy conditions in the crib for the baby. A blanket for a newborn is exactly the item of a bed that is as close as possible to the baby’s body. The choice of this children’s bedding must be correct, careful and prudent. What is the best blanket for a newborn? Let us help you figure it out!

What is the best blanket for a newborn in a crib or stroller?

What blanket to choose for a newborn? There is no single answer to this question. It all depends on what functions it will perform and what size it will have, at what time of the year it will be used and what qualities it will have. In the production of blankets for newborns, different types of fillers and fabrics for covers are used. They differ in weight, dimensions, design and shape, degree of moisture and air permeability, cost, manufacturer and nature of care. Like any individual item, a blanket should fit your child perfectly.

Transformer blankets have become widespread. Their main advantage is versatility. They are comfortable, high quality and comfortable, easy to care for and easy to use. With the correct selection of the size and material of the filler, this is the best solution for a baby to walk in a stroller. A blanket for newborns in a crib should be selected taking into account the temperature regime in the room.

Types of blankets for newborns and which one is better to choose

A small child under a blanket should be dry, comfortable, cozy and warm. Therefore, making a choice in favor of a particular product, it is necessary to be guided by seasonality. The cold season of the year requires warmth and security. A great option for autumn is a fleece, knitted, wadded and flannelette blanket, and for winter – woolen, downy, fur or synthetic winterizer. In the warm season, it is allowed to use products with excellent hygroscopicity, in which moisture evaporates quickly, the child’s body breathes and remains comfortable. The best options would be natural light blankets – jacquard, flannel, cotton, bamboo, woolen, fleece and flannel, which do not cause skin irritation and allergic reactions.

Types of baby blankets and their characteristics:

From wool

They are made from natural wool of sheep, camel, merino or goat, which is stitched in a dense fabric cover. So the wool will lie evenly and will not get into a lump during operation or washing. Knitting is another option for making a woolen blanket. A knitted blanket fully fulfills its functions, while it looks original and spectacular, it is equally well suited for the street and at home. A woolen blanket for newborns has one single drawback – high allergenicity, so it is categorically not suitable for allergic children.

Fleece

Light, comfortable and convenient, never causes thermal discomfort to the child. The disadvantage of a fleece blanket is that it collects dust, which can serve as a source of children’s allergies. This problem is easily solved by frequent washing, because the fleece blanket for newborns is instantly washed off and dries quickly.

Fleece

In their production, the down of birds is used – geese or swans. A fabric cover with fluff of different volumes is sewn up and quilted. Down duvets are lightweight, environmentally friendly and airy, retain heat well and do not trap evaporation. The duvet is a classic! It will be a great helper for outdoor walks in early spring, autumn and even winter. The main disadvantage of down is that it requires careful maintenance. When washing, the fluff gets lumped, the product is deformed, and after that a long drying period is required, special dry cleaning is acceptable here.

Cotton

Cotton wool is a popular and sought-after filler for making blankets for newborns. Remarkably absorb moisture and warm well, environmentally friendly and does not require special care. The disadvantage lies in their severity, when wet, the blanket is deformed and dries for a long time. It is widely used for walking – it spreads in a stroller or sled.

Knitted

Such models of knitted blanket are convenient for a walk and at a party, they are light, comfortable and attractive in appearance. They are knitted from synthetic and natural yarn, they perfectly tolerate repeated washing and drying, are not afraid of the cold and serve for a long time.

Bamboo

Bamboo, as a filler, is intended for the production of demi-season and summer baby blankets. Vegetable bamboo fiber is eco-friendly, hypoallergenic and lightweight, with minimal care it serves for a long time and reliably, maintains optimal for the baby’s body temperature and maintains a balance of moisture. A significant disadvantage is only its high cost, which fully pays for the impeccable quality.
