For her new track “Letters,” Monica recruited The Game to portray her love interest and their steamy scenes together are making folks scratch their heads — especially her son.
Richard Selvi, who directed the video, released it on Friday, June 30. The on-screen couple kiss and cuddle while the R&B singer declares her love for “A G and a gentleman” from a distance. The Documentary artist eventually vanishes in a flash of brilliant gold flares.
Romelo, the singer’s teenage son, reacted as only a teenager can when they witness their mommy in a foaming bathtub with a well-known hip hop star.
“Yo what is this,” he commented on “The Boy Is Mine” songstress’ social media post promoting the racy visual. “SON… It’s like a movie!! Momma at work,” Monica replied.
“Someone please tell Lil Daddy to take a day off,” the diva jokingly pleaded while sharing the conversation on her Instagram account.

The Game and Monica Snuggle Close In New Video
Following Monica’s previous R&B single “Friends” with Ty Dolla $ign, which was released last summer, “Letters” was produced by Dana Johnson and Tasha Catour. Earlier this year, the singer and James Fortune collaborated on the gospel song “Trusting God.”
The Grammy Award-winning artist gave fans an update on her upcoming R&B and country albums in May, assuring fans that the music was finished.
“I’m sure you’ve seen me getting a hard time about this album not being out yet. Before I go any further, I wanna say that Trenches, the album is done. It is ready. Also, my Country album, Open Roads is done,” expressed Monica.
“I got a few things that I wanna add. I have been doing what I got to do, but I have been balancing. Because one thing for all of us is that life just keeps life-ing. It’s ok when you take time for you […] Finally the album is done. It’s coming this year.”
