In the new drama series Griselda on Netflix, which is scheduled to debut on January 25, 2024, Sofia Vergara is in charge of one of the most successful cartels in historical times.
The America’s Got Talent judge as the smart and aspirational Colombian crime lord Griselda Blanco is shown in a little teaser that the streamer has published in anticipation (watch it below).
Speaking to a room full of men, in the clip Griselda says, “You’ve thought about me a lot, haven’t you? I heard that you liked my product. We can make a lot of money together.”
“Who is the one in charge?” one of the men queries. Without saying a word, Griselda informs him who the leader is as she menacingly stares at him.
Along with her longtime partner Luis Balaguer, Newman, Miro, Escajeda, and Bernard, Vergara will serve as executive producer. Co-executive producers include Alfredo Septién, Philipp A. Barnett, Gina Lucita Monreal, Turi Meyer, Cassie Pappas, and Brenna Kouf.
‘Griselda’ Starring Sofia Vergara Coming Soon
The new series follows the tale of Griselda Blanco, who established one of the most successful cartels in history in Miami during the 1970s and 1980s. It was created by Eric Newman, Doug Miro, Ingrid Escajeda, and Carlo Bernard (the team behind Narcos and Narcos: Mexico).
Griselda masterfully balanced work and family life with her lethal mix of charm and hidden cruelty, earning her the nickname “the Godmother.”
The cast of Griselda also includes Gabriel Sloyer as Diaz, Juliana Aidén Martinez as June, Martin Rodriguez as Rivi, José Ziga as Amilcar, and Paulina Davila as Carmen. Alberto Guerra plays Dario, Vanessa Ferlito plays Isabel, Alberto Ammann plays Alberto Bravo, Christian Tappan plays Arturo, Diego Trujillo plays German Panesso, and José Ziga plays Amilcar.
In addition to Karol G, a Colombian singer who plays Carla, Fredy Yate, Chucho Castro, Paulina Dávila, Isabel, José Ziga, Amilcar, Rafa Salazar, Marta Ochoa, Gabriel Sloyer, Raul Diaz, Diego Trujillo, and Alberto Bravo are all featured as guest stars.
