Do you remember what happened in 1999? Serena Williams won her first Grand Slam title at the USOpen, ‘Spongebob Squarepants’ aired on Nickelodeon and as the year came to a close everyone around the world awaited our collective doom fearing that computers everywhere would not rollover to the year 2000. It was also the year, Pop Star Christina Aguilera released her breakthrough hit “Genie in the Bottle.” Fast forwarding to present day, she’s still on the scene, to assist in a modern day banger with Hip Hop Artist Latto who is no stranger to sampling 90’s hits.
Latto, who alluded to the release of a pending track, (October 10th) took the floor amongst fans on twitter to tweet :
“Should we tell them?” at replying Aguilera. To which, the artist responds :
“I think it’s time babe.”

The 24 year-old artist continues to work her formula to wake up our nostalgic senses after much success sampling, Mariah Carey’s ‘Fantasy’ 1995 for 2022 track ‘Big Energy’ then collaborating and remixing it with the industry legend.
In one year, Latto earned her first chart topper on the US Digital Songs Sales Chart as well we as the title of first rapper to top Billboards Hot 100 for 2023 after transporting her sound to South Korea for “Seven” with BTS artist, Jung Kook.
Now she has paired up with Aguilera (who known to lend an addictive range of octave as well as her signature use of melisma to any track) to deliver a heavy set melodic jingle for Just Eat food delivery app.
Though none of us expected this marketing ploy to be such a plot.
