On Sunday morning, Sean Combs, aka Diddy took to social media to share an apology. The Diddy apology and acknowledgement of inappropriate behavior and violence against a women came only after the video of his physical assault on Cassie Ventura was released by CNN on Friday afternoon. The caught on tape assault took place in the since closed Intercontinental Hotel in Los Angeles.
The shared apology video was captioned by Diddy, “I’m Truly Sorry.”
The full video is just over 1 minute long, where Diddy explains that he had hit rock bottom around this time and that he sought out therapy and rehab. He explains that it was hard to watch then, and even harder to watch now. Sure it has to be even harder for Cassie to watch.
Diddy does not name Cassie in the video, or apologize directly to her.

Diddy also makes clear that he is not asking for forgiveness in the video.
The assault video highlighted one of many claims Cassie had in her lawsuit against Sean Combs late last year. The case was settled for an undisclosed amount within hours of being filed. Diddy had previously denied all allegations.
There has been no explanation of how the video got released. In the lawsuit Cassie says that Diddy paid the hotel $50,000 to get the video of the assault, which would mean that the video was in his possession. It’s unclear if this was uncovered in the raid or if the video was no longer in Diddy’s possession. Either way, the entire world has seen it since Friday.
Diddy is of course facing several other lawsuits which accuse him of sexual assault and violence. The most damning lawsuit comes from a former male employee who also claims to have video evidence.
Social Media Reacts To The Diddy Apology

I was appalled when Diddy said HE hit rock bottom. That he sought therapy and went to rehab.
What does that have to do with beating women?! Disgusting.
I was waiting for him to say “I’m sorry to Cassie”. But he couldn’t even fake that.
Evil. #NoDiddy

Stop spreading the “apology.” He denied everything when he paid Cassie but wants to say sorry now that we’ve seen video proof. Stop giving the abuser a free platform. Last week it was him and his baby all on the TL. make #nodiddy mean a media blackout on all his posts

#NoDiddy There really are some things you cannot apologize for, and this @Diddy – beating #Cassie — is one of them. Shameful. Criminal. Go away. #ByeDiddy pic.twitter.com/rvcn3v624E

You slammed this innocent woman and dragged her for filth when she sued you but now you’re contrite. Umm #NoDiddy

Admitting your wrong & violent actions after you’ve paid people off, denied it, mocked the victim(s), etc, does NOT rectify, resolve or justify what you did. It’s an embarrassing plea in the court of public opinion & another version of your narcissistic behavior. #NoDiddy

He would still be saying “these allegations are false”. Had we not seen the video. GTFOH with that Ashy apology video ???? #NoDiddy
