Only a few hours after its launch, Mary J. Blige boots sell out despite fans sharing their mixed reactions to the price.

The “Queen of Hip-Hop Soul” launched a collection of boots on Tuesday, May 14. However, the announcement of Mary J. Blige new boots was overshadowed by a significant amount of controversy surrounding the price point of the boots.

Many fans complained of the products being too pricey while some defended saying other boots of similar quality were of a similar price range. The boots price starts at $1000. This isn’t the first time celebrity-priced fashion has caused a stir. Luxury collaborations between major brands and celebrities have become increasingly common, often featuring hefty price tags that leave some fans feeling excluded.

Fortunately, a lot of fans seem to think the boots are worth every penny as within a staggering 24 hours, they had completely sold out online.

A description of the boots from the designer reads, “Born from the collaboration between iconic Italian designer, Giuseppe Zanotti, and multihyphenate award-winning artist, Mary J. Blige, The Mary Boot encapsulates the unique and celebrated styles of both talents.”
