With 2024 in our rearview, we can all agree that some bangers were released over the year that was. From “Sticky” by Tyler the Creator to “Not Like Us” by Kendrick Lamar, the music industry just kept coming out with hit after hit. We also got new albums from 21 Savage, Gunna, Future, GloRilla and many more.  So can’t help but wonder what new albums coming in 2025 will have the biggest impact.  Let’s see what albums we have to look forward to.

Atlanta bred, Dominique Armani Jones, also known as Lil Baby, has made multiple hits, one of his most popular being his song “Freestyle” earlier in his career. His more recent releases include “Touchdown” and “Insecurities” which both came out in late 2024.

Lil Baby declared in late 2024 that he would be dropping multiple albums in 2025.  WHAM, which was already released, and Dominique are supposed to show two different sides of Lil Baby, WHAM being about money and fast cars and Dominique being more personal and vulnerable. Initially the albums were supposed to be released a week apart, and then it was announced that it would be released in February, but now Dominique is pushed back again, hopefully for a March release.

Jermaine Lamarr Cole, professionally known as J. Cole, has also had many hits over the years including “She Knows” from 2013 which regained traction in more recent times, and “Middle Child” in 2019. According to HipHopDX, J. Cole has been hinting at this being his last album and the title may be hinting towards that. If that’s the case, this will definitely be an album that J. Cole fans won’t want to miss, despite the drama that surrounded his 2024 year.

More recently he released his songs “Old Days” and “Turn Up A Notch,” which both have millions of streams on YouTube. Rakim Athelaston Mayers, professionally known as A$AP Rocky, is set to release Don’t Be Dumb in early 2025. He gained fame with his song “Peso” in 2011, but some of his more recent hits include, “HIGHJACK” featuring Jessica Pratt and “Tailor Swif” which were both dropped in 2024. The album has nine tracks including “HIGHJACK” and features multiple artists including J. Cole, Busta Rhymes, and more. With this album dropping, maybe he can convince his partner, Rihanna to focus a little less on her impeccable fashion and to maybe drop some music as well.

In February 2025 A$AP Rocky was found not guilty of two counts of assault, which could have led to 20 years in prison.  The verdict was a big win for the rapper!
