Jermaine Lamarr Cole, better known as J. Cole, has been in the news for not only his beef with Kendrick Lamar due to his mixtape release, Might Delete Later, but his songs have been on replay for hip-hop fans who are enjoying his lyrical artistry.
Recently, Cole found himself in a tricky situation with fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar after he surprised fans with the release of his fourth mixtape, “Might Delete Later,” on April 5, 2024.
In Kendrick’s track “Like That,” he delivered a pointed verse that left fans speculating about its target. Though no names were mentioned, the reference to “the big three” sparked speculation, leading many to believe Cole was one of the intended recipients.
Leading up to the mixtape’s release, subtle hints emerged, including J. Cole’s vlogs and a notable response to Kendrick Lamar’s diss track found on the mixtape’s closing track, “7 Minute Drill.”

Check out our review of the songs on J Cole’s new mixtape, Might Delete Later. While many were disappointed after Cole ended the beef, J Cole and Kendrick’s beef is one of the moments the hip-hop world will not be forgetting anytime soon.

Unlike his previous projects, this mixtape was not released under Roc Nation but instead dropped through Dreamville and Interscope Records. Featuring 12 tracks, the album boasted collaborations with notable artists like Young Dro, Gucci Mane, Ari Lennox, and more.
