Lil Durk, the well-known rapper from Chicago, might be looking at a death penalty sentence after getting hit with a murder-for-hire charge. The charges against Lil Durk and his record label, OTF (Only the Family) members’ arrest, are the supposed role in the death of rapper Quando Rondo’s cousin, thought to be a retaliation to King Von’s murder.
On 24th of Oct,2024, the rapper was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals. Lil Durk murder hire arrest comes as a shock to his fans and is still under investigation with 5 OTF members suspected to be involved.
The incident which led to Quando Rondo’s cousin’s demise happened in 2022. A gunman opened fire on Quando Rondo, real name is Terrell Bowman, in August 2022. The artist was at a gas station in West Hollywood along with his sister and cousin.
Quando Rondo was the target of the shooting. In a turn of events, Rondo and his sister were not hurt in the incident; however, his cousin Saviay’a Robinson, who was 24 years old, was shot many times and ultimately passed away.
Lil Durk is suspected to have done the charge in retaliation for King Von death, who was murdered in an altercation with Quando Rondo’s crew.
King Von murder happened on November 6, 2020, and the late rapper was a member of OTF, Lil Durk’s label. Von legally known as Dayvon Daquan Bennett was accidentally caught in a crossfire which left him injured and died after being shot repeatedly.
It has been established that Brian Bieber and Alek Ubieta, who are both attorneys for Durk, will serve as Lil Durk’s legal representatives. Specifically, they disclosed that the rapper is scheduled to make his initial appearance in federal court on Friday in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
The details surrounding the case are still unfolding; however, the allegations against Lil Durk are severe and carry significant legal consequences. The rapper faces a potential death penalty or life imprisonment if found guilty of the charges levied against him.
As the investigation continues, the full extent of Lil Durk’s involvement as well as his crew members will be revealed which justice is served.
