Mariah Carey had her son Moroccan on April 30, 2011, with her ex-husband Nick Cannon. Moroccan has a twin sister named Monroe. In Carey’s memoir, The Meaning of Mariah Carey, she expressed wanting her kids to have her same initials. Moroccan was named after the “Fantasy” singer’s New York City apartment which has Moroccan-inspired decorations. Despite their parents’ celebrity status, Carey tries to keep her son grounded as much as possible. The star explains, “It’s hard, but I try to keep them grounded so they don’t think everything is just handed to them.” However, Moroccan has still enjoyed some celebrity perks. He has walked red carpets, been on multiple yacht vacations, and was on stage for the 2022 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The “We Belong Together” singer has a close bond with her son as they went on a Valentine’s date earlier this year. Carey posted the date to her Instagram calling her son her, “funny Valentine.”
