There was a time when Afrobeats was still fighting for global recognition. Now, it’s safe to say the sound has not only crossed borders but is being embraced worldwide. At the forefront of this cultural movement are the hottest song collaborations by Nigerian artists.

It skyrocketed with pacesetters Wizkid and Davido, but in recent years, Burna Boy seems to have taken the lead, with stars like Tems, Rema, Asake, and others closely following—ready to snatch the crown at the slightest slip. Devoted listeners of these powerhouses know they don’t play when it comes to their craft. The consistency, the work ethic, and the results speak volumes.

Not even halfway through the year, we’ve already seen an impressive lineup of features from Nigerian acts. No matter the tribe, language, or continent, one thing is certain: call upon one of these heavyweights and they will deliver.

Burna Boy and Shallipopi killed it on “Laho II,” no doubt. From the infectious aura that carries your body to the tempo to the invigorating blend of their opposite styles, everything was everything… literally!

Shallipop’s first version of the song was already fire, leaving many to think there was no need for another take. But Burna’s additional verse? It gave the track a new flavor we didn’t even know we needed.
