Day 9 of the Diddy Trial began with Kid Cudi testimony. The two-time Grammy winner dated Cassie Ventura briefly dated after she broke up with Diddy around 2011.
Cudi’s Testimony
Kid Cudi, whose real name is Scott Mescudi, testified on Thursday that he believes his car was firebombed by Diddy when he found out that he and Ventura were seeing each other back in 2011.
Cassie also testified last week that Diddy threatened to hurt her and Kid Cudi and she also had already mentioned this in her 2023 lawsuit against Diddy.
Cassie claimed in her lawsuit that he (Diddy) told her in early 2012, while they were at Paris Fashion Week, that he wanted to blow up Kid Cudi’s car while he and his friends were home.
Cassie said in her lawsuit that Kid Cudi’s car exploded in his driveway around this time, but she did not accuse Combs of carrying it.
A representative of Cudi in 2023, did confirm what she accused him of to the New York Times.
Cudi testified today and referred to Combs as a Marvel “supervillain.”
He said back in December 2011, when Ventura and Combs were on a break from their relationship, that one night his home was broken into, his dog was locked in a bathroom, and later a Molotov cocktail was thrown in his blue Porsche as it sat in his driveway.
According to TMZ, Cudi says while he was with Cassie, they got a call from Diddy’s employee Capricorn Clark, who told them Diddy was inside his house. Cudi said Clark then told them she was waiting in a car outside the home while Diddy was inside.
Cudi called Combs to confront him and said, “Motherf***** you in my house?” He noted that Combs calmly told him, “What’s up, I just want to talk to you.”
He said after having several conversations with Combs during that time that he does believe he was involved in the car bombing, and the reason he and Ventura broke up soon thereafter was out of concern for their safety.
He also testified he believed Combs was “violent.”
Cudi also said he confronted Combs twice over the years about the incident. The first time, Cudi asked Combs, “What was he going to do about his car?” to which he replied, he had no idea what he was talking about. Cudi said he thought Combs was lying at the time
A few years later, they saw each other again. This time, Combs told Cudi that he apologized for everything, and after that, the pair made peace with one another.
This also confirms Ventura’s testimony from last week about Combs’ violent nature toward not only her but others and his controlling nature when it came to her.
Many feared Combs not only because of his temper but also the power he had within the industry during that time.. Ventura had already testified that Combs had threatened her not only with violence but destroying her career if any of this ever came out.
As the trial continues, more testimony is expected from other celebrities in the coming days and weeks ahead.
