The Spanish TikTok scene has been buzzing lately with a wave of videos using Nigerian artist Skales’ 2015 hit “Shake Body.” This unexpected revival was sparked by Barcelona’s rising football sensation, Lamine Yamal, who posted a clip during the international break showing him and his teammates dancing to the uber-successful track. Due to the crossover tease, we’ve all been wondering… what would a Skales and Lamine Yamal collaboration actually look like?

Fortunately, it didn’t stop at Yamal’s initial video, which is now sitting at over 18 million views on the Chinese-based app. Following Barcelona’s Copa del Rey victory over Real Madrid, Lamine and the squad were (once again) caught on camera celebrating with the same infectious jam. While it might seem like just another footballer vibing to a catchy song, for Skales, we can assume that this is an opportunity for a powerful comeback.

Before Yamal’s viral post, “Shake Body” had (seemingly) faded from mainstream memory, with low traction on streaming platforms and social media. But, after the video, the song exploded back into relevance, with the potential to become a new soundtrack for fans celebrating both Barcelona’s success and Spanish football pride.

Skales, on the other hand, hasn’t been idle amid this newfound craze. Not too long ago, he was seen vibing with Yamal’s mother, dancing to the bop in a clip that made rounds online. He was also invited to the Barcelona dressing room and spotted flying with the team after their big win moments.

With momentum on his side and Yamal’s influence, we can’t help but wonder how an iconic team-up between the two public figures would be. Here are our predictions.

What a Skales and Lamine Yamal Collaboration Could Look Like in 2025

Soundtrack for a Sports Game or Ad

Just like how Declan Rice’s Arsenal signing was soundtracked by Odumodublvck’s “Declan Rice,” Skales’ “Shake Body” could follow a similar path.

If Skales aligns strategically with Yamal’s team, particularly through brand partnerships, the song could be used as the background track for his ad campaigns or highlight reels. We are referencing collaborations with companies like Adidas or even gaming franchises like EA Sports.

With Yamal’s clear love for the Afrobeats and fans already vibing to it in connection with his wins, the energy is there. A move like this can come through and give Skales a second wave of success with an old hit. It will also endear more Nigerians to Yamal. Brands are not excluded, as they will have a viral-ready anthem for their campaigns.

A “Shake Body” Remix

With the sudden spike in interest around “Shake Body,” thanks to Yamal and his teammates, a remix is very likely. Skales has been moving strategically—linking up with Yamal’s mother, vibing with the team, and even joining them on their Copa del Rey celebration flight. That kind of closeness makes a remix not just possible but expected.

Although Skales already hit us with the new anthem, “Dance Like Yamine Yamal,” featuring Spanish artist 3dnan, in early May, a part-two version of “Shake Body” with Yamal making a cameo in the music video, or even hopping on the beat, would be out of this world. This could be him recreating his viral dance moment or pulling off something creative while dropping some dope bars of his own.

It doesn’t even have to stop with Skales and Yamal. They could grab 3dnan or another Spanish fellow to easily jump in and give it a local edge, making it a full-blown Afro-Latin anthem.

Joint Concert Appearance or World Tour

There are many possibilities here, and things can go in two major directions. We’ve seen Skales and Yamal meet up to share some brotherly love at the FC Barca Celebration, but what about for an official show or (better yet) a full-blown tour?

Picture this: Skales gets invited through his newfound friendship with Yamal to perform “Shake Body” in front of family and fans at an upcoming birthday party and brings the whole city (plus paparazzi) out. That would be a grand occasion with global traction.

On the flip side, Skales could easily invite Yamal to make a surprise appearance during one of his international tours. Imagine the reaction if a Spanish footballer comes out mid-performance to vibe or dance to the track. That crossover moment between Afrobeats music and football could break the internet.
