#5: Outside the Wire (2021) – Lt. Thomas Harp

Starring alongside Anthony Mackie (Captain Leo), Idris plays the role of a drone pilot who goes against a direct order and is sent to a war-torn region for his troubles. Harp’s journey in the movie sees him confront the consequences of his decisions while adapting to the realities of war on the ground – a sharp contrast to his experience as a drone pilot.

All actors tend to have “that” movie or TV series that really puts them on everyone’s screens, and “Snowfall” was that for Idris. The TV series set in the 80s in Los Angeles exploring the early days of the crack cocaine epidemic.

Damson Idris plays Franklin Saint, a young, ambitious drug dealer who rose to become a powerful figure in the South Central Los Angeles drug trade. The well-received series is critically acclaimed and has been praised for its realistic depiction of the era, the strong performances of its cast, and depth and nuance.
