These days, almost everyone knows who Kai Cenat is. Whether you’re a big fan who watches his streams daily or someone who just knows his name, it’s only natural to be a little curious as to how he suddenly became so well-known.  Let’s talk about how he got so popular, and his many business ventures. We’ll also discuss the Kai net worth, so stay tuned to know how much he’s accumulated.

Kai Cenat Early Life

Kai Cenat was born on December 16th, 2001, making him currently 23 years old. He is one of four children including an older brother,  younger brother, and his twin sister (Kaiya).  His mother is of Trinidadian decent, and his father was Haitian.  While his father was not really around, he grew up in New York City spending time in Brooklyn and The Bronx. He and his family struggled in his early life, dealing with many hardships.  In an interview with Complex he discusses living in shelters as a child. “It was tough growing up—my mom wasn’t the parent that always had it financially,” he continued. “I was only getting one pair of sneakers for the whole year. …I never complained about [it], you feel what I’m saying. I understood what was going on and my mom, she did her best to provide,” he recalls.

Cenat watched YouTube videos a lot growing up for entertainment, and dreamed of being a comedian. Before posting on YouTube, he’d post short videos on Instagram and Facebook during his school years. However, on January 13th, 2018,  he posted his first YouTube video, which would start it all.

YouTube and Twitch

By September of 2019, he already had close to 3 million followers. His videos mostly consisted of prank videos that took place in his college, at SUNY Morrisville. However, he dropped out in 2020 because the college workload along with him being a streamer became too much for him.

In 2021, he started streaming on Twitch. He posted many different types of content including streams where he talks to his audience, plays games, does comedic skits and pranks, and more. He also streamed his “Streamer University” on Twitch which you can read more about here.

Currently, Cenat’s Twitch account has over 17 million followers, and his YouTube has 13 million followers with over 2,000 videos, which helped him win the “Streamer of the Year” award from the Streamy Awards in 2022 and 2023.

Over the years he’s worked with multiple well-known individuals including Mr. Beast, Travis Scott, Lil Uzi Vert, North West, Kyrie Irving, and more. He’s also had multiple brand sponsorships including Nike, McDonald’s, UTA, and more. However, Cenat is very selective with which deals he takes and companies he partners with. In late 2023, he turned down a $60 million deal with a newer streaming service named Kick. He also turned down deals with Netflix and Amazon for his “Streamer University” project. These deals were turned down because he wanted to keep complete control of his ideas and felt that some of the opportunities didn’t align with his brand and needs.

Other Money Makers and Kai Cenat Net Worth

Other business venture Cenat followed through with are music and acting. His song “Bustdown Rollie Avalanche” featuring NLE Choppa came out in 2022.

Since its release, it has gained over 84 million streams on Spotify. The music video has close to 18 million views.

As for acting, Cenat played the role of a “disgruntled customer” in the movie Good Burger 2 in 2023.

So, between YouTube, sponsorships, music, and more, what is Kai Cenat’s net worth? Well, according to multiple sources, Cenat has a net worth of about $14 million, a true rags to riches story. With everything he’s already accomplished at such a young age, it will be interesting to see what he accomplishes in the future.
