With Fifth Harmony in talks to reunite, and recently performing together at a recent Jonas Brothers concert (minus Camila Cabello) it begs the question of what the group members have been up to since their indefinite hiatus back in 2018.

First, we need to talk about how Fifth Harmony came to be in the first place. In 2012, Normani, Ally Brooke, Camila Cabello, Dinah Jane, and Lauren Jauregui auditioned for the U.S. edition of The X Factor originally as solo acts. While the five members didn’t find success as soloists, they were put together to form a girl group. Thus, Fifth Harmony was born after getting their name from a public vote.

It’s no secret that the quintet had an impact on popular culture. Fifth Harmony dominated the 2010s, becoming one of the best-selling girl groups of that time. According to the RIAA, their debut album, Reflection, and the follow-up 7/27 both went platinum. Some of their most memorable songs were “Work from Home” (featuring Ty Dolla $ign), “Worth It”,  “All In My Head (Flex)” featuring Fetty Wap, “Sledgehammer”, and “Down.” The group made it onto Billboard’s Top 100 Women Artists of the 21st Century Chart.

Nothing was ever the same once Cabello decided to leave the group back in December 2016. Drama ensued as it was a classic case of miscommunication. Long story short, Fifth Harmony put out a statement explaining Cabello’s departure. The “Havana” singer released her statement, saying that she was taken aback by their post.

Fifth Harmony remained as a quartet for a little while after that, releasing their self-titled album in 2017. However, it wasn’t long until the group revealed in 2018 that they would go on an indefinite hiatus while they pursue their solo careers.

Fifth Harmony: Where Are They Now And A Possible Reunion

Ever since The Hollywood Reporter hinted at a Fifth Harmony reunion, it’s only natural for fans to wonder what the members of the girl group are up to now.

Normani

Normani came out of the gate swinging with her debut single “Love Lies” with Khalid in 2018. Throughout her solo career, the singer has been known mostly for her singles such as “Motivation” and “Wild Side” featuring Cardi B. However, Normani released her long-awaited debut album, Dopamine, in June 2024. It did not receive quite the same response and the buzz went away quietly. Normani revealed that she was taking care of sick family members which kept her out the spotlight the way she needed to really market the album.

Outside of music, the songstress was a contestant on season 24 of Dancing With the Stars in 2017, landing in third place. She was also a judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race and has been a model for several of Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty fashion shows. Recently, the “Dancing with a Stranger” singer got engaged to football player DK Metcalf, after Ciara and Russell Wilson connected the couple together.

Ally Brooke

Brooke’s single “Perfect” featuring Topic became her debut as a solo artist. While she has released a few singles as well, the musician has confirmed that her debut album is on the way. It will be titled Mi Música and sung completely in Spanish. Similar to Normani, Brooke also competed on Dancing With The Stars on their 28th season, finishing in third place. Her artistry goes beyond the music industry as she wrote a memoir titled Finding Your Harmony in October 2020. The Texas-born native also has a petite-sized clothing line with JCPenney. On May 3, Brooke married the love of her life, Will Bracey, who is the CEO of the Bieber family.

Dinah Jane

After dropping her debut solo single “Bottled Up” in 2018, Jane geared up to go on her first solo headlining tour in 2020, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, it didn’t happen. While putting out singles here and there, it was in August 2024 that she released her debut EP  JUICE COUNTY: VOLUME 1 as an independent artist.

Lauren Jauregui

Jauregui released her debut single “Expectations” in October 2018. Like Normani, she joined the Birds of Prey soundtrack with her track “Invisible Chains.” The singer released two EPs: Prelude (2021) and In Between (2023) independently under her indie label Attunement Records. In 2021, Lauren was featured in the HBO series A Tiny Audience. Recently, she told US Weekly that she is ready to release her debut album later this year.

Camila Cabello

Cabello’s solo career has been the most consistent out of the Fifth Harmony members. Releasing her first solo single “Crying in the Club” in 2017 and other hit singles like “I Have Questions,” “OMG” (feat. Quavo), “Havana,” featuring Young Thug, and “Never Be the Same,” the singer proved herself to be on the rise as a solo act. Opening for Taylor Swift on her Reputation tour in 2018, the songstress went on her first solo headlining tour later that year. Cabello has received three Grammy nominations and won four VMAs. She has released four albums: Camila (2018), Romance (2019), Familia (2022), and C, XOXO (2024). The artist has also turned to acting, starring in the 2021 Amazon adaptation of Cinderella and voice acting as Viva in Trolls Band Together (2023).

Is Fifth Harmony Getting Back Together?

Multiple sources have told The Hollywood Reporter that Fifth Harmony is set to reunite in 2026 minus Cabello (as she no longer has rights to the Fifth Harmony name). Insiders say that the group is set to have a documentary showing their return to the stage, capturing footage from a tour that will be announced. It is said that Will Bracey will be leading this reunion. While it is too soon to say what will happen, members Jauregui, Brooke, and Jane had their own reunion at a Sparks game recently.

Fans have also wondered what Normani’s possible return to Fifth Harmony means for her career. After being public about her experience in the group, comparing it to a “prison sentence,” fans are wondering why Normani would ever want to return. Some fans see this as a step back for Normani, whose debut album didn’t make the waves that critics and fans thought it would.
