For actors, there is no right way to predict which movie will be a hit or which role will be a blockbuster, so some successful movie scripts end up getting rejected. Many famous actors have turned down movie roles for various reasons. Additionally, getting the correct script or carefully selecting a role does not guarantee that the movie will be a success.

While some blockbuster roles began on one actor’s desk, only to be rejected and then cast with another actor, ultimately resulting in a successful movie on screen. Many famous stars have rejected participating in movies that later became career-defining for someone else. Here’s a look at the actors who turned down roles in successful movies.
