Atlanta’s very own Future released his 10th solo album on Friday, July 10th. Simply titled, The Real Me, the album finds Future two years removed from his Mixtape Pluto project, which was released on the heels of the We Don’t Trust You series with Metro Boomin. His successful run has led fans to debate whether or not he has a rightful place in the BIG 3. And his impressive collaborations with Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole and Drake in quick succession has only helped add to the lore that is Future.
It didn’t take long before the reactions started coming in for the new The Real Me album by Future. Within minutes Future’s album was trending on X. Fans are very mixed when it comes to this album with them expressing interesting takes on it.
The single from the project, “Radio” was released about two weeks ago to much hype and it had fans anticipating what the full project would sound like. Based on the fan feedback so far, the hype was not matched.
NBA Youngboy also seemed to have a lot to say about Future in the last 24 hours as well, igniting a weirdly timed beef with the rapper, and seemingly all of the Atlanta Hip-Hop scene.

While the reactions seem to be generally unfavorable, the reality is Future hasn’t had nearly the amount of success in recent years as he has had in years pass. Remove “Like That,” the song that got the whole Drake and Kendrick beef off the ground because of the Kendrick feature, and Future really doesn’t have a hit single in 4 projects. So while he’s stepped up and continued to release project after project, he simply hasn’t been able to get the moving the way he once was. We’ll see if one of the songs off this project competes with “Spend Dat” for song of the summer, or if it even comes close.
