10: Tie: Erykah Badu’s New Amerykah Part Two and Monica’s Still Standing: Both albums were comebacks of sorts of these two ladies. The latter arriving after a long hiatus. These two releases are worthy to be on the list and are full of good music – period.
9: Drake’s Thank Me Later: The debut of the actor turned rapper along with the backing of Young Money proved this Canadian native could vie with the best of the best in the hip hop industry.
8: Sade’s Soldier of Love: A return to form, after more than a decade of being out of the spotlight, Sade, returned to the music scene with a brazen and coarser approach than previous song collections.
7: B.O.B’s B.O.B Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray: The innovation of rapper, B.O.B was displayed prominently throughout this release capitalizing on various music genres and styles.
6: Trey Songz’s Passion Pain & Pleasure: While this was no Ready, it did display a more artistic side of the singer while maintaining the signature vocal tone.
5: Eminem’s Recovery: The brazen hip hop emcee dove right into the mic ripping it to pieces with vicious bars and slick rhymes that were unbelievably memorable. B.O.B’s B.O.B Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray: The innovation of rapper, B.O.B was displayed prominently throughout this release capitalizing on various music genres and styles.
4: Usher’s Raymond vs Raymond: This release gave Usher many radio friendly vibes and continued in the same vein that was attributed to other Usher releases.
3: R.Kelly’s Love Letter: The Pied Piper unleashed a hearkening to R&B from each decade making this one of his best to come out in quite awhile.
2: Michael Jackson’s Michael: While there has been much controversy surrounding whether it should have been released or not and whether the vocals were up to par, Michael is a solid portfolio of cuts that unveil the voice that was respected and loved.
1: Kanye West’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy: Leaving behind the school themed albums, Kanye, engineered a cohesive and collaborative musical masterpiece.
