Could Sade Be Releasing Music This Year???

It’s been a minute since we’ve gotten a full-length project from legendary vocalist Sade, but she may be coming back sooner than we think.

Her sixth studio album, Soldier of Love, released eight years ago, in 2010, which was later followed up with a greatest hits album and a live concert DVD/CD that was recorded during her tour in 2011. After that, Sade embarked on one of her well-known hiatuses, but each and every time, it’s like she’s never left because her music is timeless.

However, this year, she resurfaced with an acoustic ballad, “Flower of the Universe,” for the Ava DuVernay-directed Disney film, A Wrinkle in Time, official soundtrack. As always, the fans just couldn’t get enough and demanded more from the singer.

While the questions seemed never-ending and continued to swirl, Sade remained relatively quiet, but her fellow band member and longtime collaborator, Stuart Matthewman has broken the silence and let the cat out of the bag… an album is on the way!

“We working on a new album,” Matthewman told Rated R&B. “When we’re happy, then we’ll let everyone else hear it.”

According to Matthewman, Sade and the creative team actually have a “bunch of songs” that they are assembling for the final product, but those who are eager to listen will just have to be a little more patient, as they prepare to deliver what the soulful songbird is most known for… perfection.

When asked about how Sade’s label home, Epic Records, feels about the delay of music, Matthewman assures that they respect her craft and “knows there’s no point in nagging them or giving them deadlines.” In fact, Sade likes a more timely process when it comes to her artistry.

“[Sade’s] not interested in the fame or any of that [other] stuff. She likes to put out art. So when it’s ready, it will come out,” he said.

We’re sure that it’ll be well worth the wait!
