Parlé: I’ve noticed that you have a lot of overseas play time. How did that come about?
Sullee J: You know honestly, it was really spontaneous, it was just random. It all started out in Norway actually. This DJ, her name is DJ Unica, she’s the one who saw me up there. She’s the one who got me to fly out the first time and set up the performances, we set up radio interviews out there. Because of that I started sending my press kit to the different radio stations and basically anyone and everyone. Then they just started liking my music. I find that overseas they like more inspirational music with a message instead of just I got this much, I got that much.

Parlé: Is there any other upcoming event or anything at all we should know about?
Sullee J: As of right now yeah, basically I’m about to release my second mixtape. And as for upcoming events I am working with another agency for France possibly first or Uganda but definitely both in time.

Parlé: Where can people get these mixtapes? Like where can I find your mixtape?
Sullee J: They’ll all be on myspace, so it’ll be on that. You can buy my first album on itunes. Other than that would be napster. What we’re working on right now is sweetj.com and that will be released by April 1st.

Parlé: From what I can tell you’re still an unsigned artist, have any labels shown interest?
Sullee J: Of course, of course we’re working with a couple.
Your bio speaks loudly about your faith and how you regained it after a terrible car accident.
They told me I may never walk again cause I have like a rod in my leg. My femur broke and they told me I may never use my right arm again, but now when people see me it looks like nothing ever happened. I feel like only you can tell yourself what you’re capable of.

Parlé: Is there anything else you want to touch on that we didn’t really get to talk about?
Sullee J: Other than that basically I’m working on more and more interviews. As an unsigned artist, one thing I would like to tell them is the only money that they should be spending is on studio time cause everything else your talent should pay for. I’m speaking from a lot of experience; a lot of frauds are out there. They’ll charge you for the craziest stuff, which you don’t even need to pay for cause it won’t take you no where. The only thing I have honestly paid for is studio time.

Parlé: Have you yourself been taken advantage of?
Sullee J: That’s what I’m saying, that’s why now I only pay for studio time. Of course I’ve been taken advantage of in the beginning, when I first started. Wasted a lot of money, but I’ve come to learn.

Parlé: Any idea when you’ll be signed?
Sullee J: Honestly, like right now the way things are going we’re breaking records for our time. It could be at any moment. My manager, we’re working with two labels right now so hopefully really soon.

Parlé: Do you have words of wisdom for people out there in the struggle?
Sullee J: Those who ‘will’, will. I also wanted to say, people need to give up giving in, and start giving in to getting up.
