London, U.K. artist Rita Ora is headlining a tour of the United States, hitting five major U.S. cities this fall along with Australian rapper Iggy Azalea.
Rita Ora’s debut studio album, Ora on the RocNation record label was highly successful in the United Kingdom, debuting at number on the U.K. Album Charts. Her number one hit singles “Hot”, “How We Do (Party)” and “R.I.P.” earned her record breaking success. Ora became the first artist this year to have three consecutive number one singles on the UK Singles Chart. Her debut effort took two years to complete, as she worked with music icons like Will.i.am, Drake, The-Dream and Kanye West.
Ora’s big break came when she was discovered by an A&R scout while singing in bars in and around London. In 2009, the A&R representative told Roc Nation about Ora and she was flown to New York where her talent impressed Jay-Z and she was later signed to Rocnation.
Ora sites Gwen Stefani as her idol and biggest influence when it comes to her music and style. She also names Beyonce Knowles as another major influence and mentor.
