Fresh off the release of Black Messiah the highly touted album, D’Angelo and The Vanguard, announced the first performance since the release at the world famous Apollo Theater in New York City. The one-night only event will take place on Saturday February 7th at 8p.m. D’Angelo and his band will perform cuts from Black Messiah, his first album in fourteen years, as well as classic cuts. The performance will come ahead of his recently announced The Second Coming European tour, which begins February 11th in Switzerland.
This will be D’Angelo’s first headlining performance at the Apollo, however he began his career on the same stage, winning three straight times at Amateur Night at the Apollo when he was just 16 years old.
Tickets for the Apollo Theater show will go on sale on Wednesday January 21st at 10 a.m.
