- [divider]6[/divider]“Throw Sum Mo” by Rae Sremmurd ft. Nicki Minaj & Young Thug
It’s been a year and these dudes are still relevant, I know the term 15 minutes of fame doesn’t actually mean 15 minutes but the Lord knows I wish it did. Although they’ve had all these catchy songs that sound about the same, this duo hasn’t had a top ten hit yet. They barely broke top 20 charts with “No Type” at #16.
The problem with this song is that they could probably only afford for Nicki to do the hook but not a verse or she didn’t have anything for it because she sounds so bored in the hook. I’m surprised she showed up for the video shoot to be honest. It’s a generic bitches and money song about throwing money around like it ain’t no thang. One of the Rae dudes says in the song that he want the DJ to play his song while he tries to get it in with some broad. Not his song like someone would say when their favorite songs comes on but his song as in one he’s on. That’s hella narcissistic. Young Thug offers nothing to this song to be honest he wasn’t needed if they that already got Nicki.
The more you spend it, the fast it go yeah that what happens when you try making it rain everyday of the week. You’ll soon be unemployed and homeless again…
Here’s a brief side note that has nothing to do with this particular song: I can’t support anyone who made a song for Donald Trump ( “Up Like Trump”) which makes no sense because Trump, as best I know, isn’t known for his wild partying lifestyle. Should’ve been “Up Like Sheen” until he (Charlie) disclosed he was HIV Positive but at least Sheen is known for his wild partying lifestyle.
