Common Performance Sets Off Wonderful Second Night of Performances at Essence Fest 2016
On the second night of Essence Festival 2016 featured an epic Common performance that was the precursor to the Charlie Wilson & Mariah Carey performances (images coming soon).
Common began the evening with a performance of “Glory” featuring special audio clips from Muhammed Ali, honoring the recently passed boxing legend and humanitarian.
He continued for about 40 minutes with a set that included songs like “The Light”, “Testify”, and “The Corner”. He also brought out R&B star, Bilal to support the performance as well as the New Breed Jazz Band, an ensemble from New Orleans who played along to a number of his songs.
